These Terms govern your use of RentalChain, operated by RentalChain Technologies Private Limited, registered at 3rd Floor, 100 Feet Road, Indiranagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560038, India (“RentalChain”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. What RentalChain is

RentalChain is a rental evidence and trust platform. It lets tenants and landlords create verifiable, tamper-proof records of rental agreements, rent payments, property-condition evidence, and disputes. RentalChain does not act as a broker, landlord, tenant, or party to any rental agreement.

2. What RentalChain is not

• Not a payment processor. Payments made between tenants and landlords happen outside the platform (bank transfer, UPI, etc.). RentalChain only records and attests to payments that users report — it never holds, moves, or has custody of funds.
• No cryptocurrency involved. There are no wallets, tokens, or gas fees for users to manage. All record verification happens automatically, server-side, at RentalChain's cost.
• Not legal advice. Agreements generated or evidenced through RentalChain do not constitute legal advice; consult a lawyer for legal matters.

3. Your account

• You must provide accurate information and keep your KYC details up to date.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account (OTP access) and for all activity under it.
• You must be legally capable of entering into a rental agreement under Indian law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload fraudulent documents, forged evidence, or false payment records.
• Use the platform to harass, defraud, or misrepresent another party.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
• Interfere with, reverse-engineer, or abuse the platform's infrastructure.

5. Evidence & record integrity

When you submit a record (agreement, payment, evidence, or dispute), RentalChain generates a cryptographic fingerprint of that record and time-stamps it. This proves a record existed, unaltered, at a point in time — it does not verify the truthfulness of the underlying claim. Disputes over the accuracy of a record are between the parties involved; RentalChain may provide evidence but does not adjudicate disputes.

6. Fees

Any fees for using RentalChain (if applicable) will be clearly disclosed before you are charged. RentalChain covers all infrastructure costs of anchoring records; you are never asked to pay network/gas fees directly.

7. Termination

You may stop using RentalChain at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or pose a security risk to the platform or other users. Records already sealed remain independently verifiable even after account termination, since the fingerprint itself contains no personal data.

8. Limitation of liability

RentalChain is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, RentalChain is not liable for losses arising from disputes between tenants and landlords, inaccurate information submitted by users, or events outside our reasonable control.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, India.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of RentalChain after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
